Privacy notice
How Noryn Markets handles the personal information it receives through this site, and your rights over it.
This notice covers the Noryn Markets website: the pages you are reading and the contact form on them. It says what the site asks for, what happens to it, and how to ask about it. It is written to be read, not filed.
Who is responsible for your information
Noryn Markets publishes this website and decides what happens to the information that reaches it through the contact form.
This notice describes this website and nothing else. It does not describe what Noryn Markets may do with information given to it some other way, through another service, or under an agreement of its own.
Questions about this notice can be sent to [email protected].
What we collect
Only what you send through the contact form, and a little about the request that carried it:
- What you type: your name, your email address, the subject you choose from the list, and your message. A telephone number and a country are optional; the form works without them.
- That you ticked the box beside the form, confirming you have read this notice.
- The language of the page you sent the enquiry from, so the reply can be in it.
- A one-way fingerprint of the IP address the enquiry came from — the number your internet connection is known by, not a postal address. The IP address itself is never written down. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into it, and it exists for one purpose: to count how many enquiries the same sender has actually sent in the past hour, so that the form cannot be flooded. A message that does not go through — one with a field still to fix, say — is not an enquiry and is not counted.
Separately from that, the IP address a request arrives from is used for a short time, in the server’s memory alone, to protect this form and the rest of the site from floods of requests — including requests that never become an enquiry at all. That is a passing check rather than a record: it is not written into your enquiry and it is not kept with it. The email address you write in the form is counted over the same hour in the same way, so that one address cannot flood the form from many connections. That counting is not stored either, and it is no check on who you are.
The servers that answer this site keep ordinary technical records of the requests they handle — which page was asked for, what was answered, and how long it took. Those records do not hold the contents of a form, an email address, or a full IP address.
Through this website and its contact form, Noryn Markets does not collect identity documents, proof of address, financial or payment details, or trading records; the site has no account to open, nothing to sign in to and nothing to pay. It runs no identity checks and makes no automated decisions about anyone.
How we use it
To read your enquiry and answer it. The reply goes to the email address you gave, and the message you sent is quoted back so the thread makes sense.
Nothing sent through this form is used to advertise to you, to build a picture of you, or to reach you about anything you did not ask about. This website runs no analytics and no marketing tracking, so what you read here is not recorded against you.
The one-way fingerprint described above is used only to limit how many enquiries one sender can make in an hour.
The legal bases we rely on
In plain terms: you send an enquiry so that Noryn Markets can answer it, and answering it is the only thing the information is used for. Handling what you sent is what makes the reply possible.
Limiting how many enquiries come from one sender, and keeping a hidden field that automated scripts fill in and people do not, are there to keep the form working for the people who need it.
Where the law that applies to you requires a formal basis to be named, Noryn Markets' adviser sets it out here. Until that wording is published, write to [email protected] to ask where it stands.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is not sold, and it is not passed to anyone to use for their own ends.
It is, necessarily, handled by the companies that make this website work:
- the company whose servers run this website and store its database;
- the network provider the site is published through, which also carries mail sent to the addresses on this site;
- the email provider that delivers an enquiry from this website to Noryn Markets.
Each of them handles it only so as to provide that service. Inside Noryn Markets, an enquiry is read by the people who deal with the kind of enquiry it is.
Market data on the market pages. The pages under Markets include data and content supplied through TradingView. When these widgets load, your browser connects directly to TradingView infrastructure. As with normal web requests, this may provide TradingView with technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, and page URL or referrer information associated with the request.
Noryn Markets' Content Security Policy blocks the tracking request observed during our testing. No TradingView cookies were observed during that testing. TradingView's own processing is governed by its policies and may change independently of this website.
Where the law obliges Noryn Markets to give information to a public authority, it is given.
Transfers to other countries
The companies described above work internationally, so an enquiry may be stored on, or carried through, servers outside the country you sent it from. Where that happens, it is handled under the terms Noryn Markets has with each of them, and for the same single purpose: answering you.
How long we keep it
An enquiry sent through this website is kept for 12 months from the day it arrives, and is then deleted from this website's database automatically.
The message that was emailed to Noryn Markets when you sent it lives in Noryn Markets' own mailbox, and follows that mailbox's own arrangements rather than this one. If a reply turns into a longer exchange, that exchange is correspondence, and it is kept for as long as the matter it concerns needs.
The technical request records described above are short-lived and are overwritten as the servers run.
Your rights
You can ask what this website holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to [email protected].
Write from the address you sent the enquiry from, or quote the reference you were shown when you sent it. Without one of those, the right enquiry cannot be found, and Noryn Markets will not hand someone else's message to whoever asks for it.
The law where you live may give you further rights than these, and nothing here takes any of them away. If you think your information has been handled wrongly, say so at the same address; if the answer does not satisfy you, you may be able to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Contacting us about your information
Anything in this notice, and any request about your own information, goes to [email protected]. The contact form reaches the same people, and choosing the matching subject gets it there faster.
Changes to this notice
This notice describes the website as it is now. When the website changes what it asks for, what it keeps or who handles it, this notice is changed with it, and the version published on this page is the one that applies.
